Overview

 

Come to cf.Objective() 2010 a couple of days early and learn Mach-II and OOP from the ground up!

Team Mach-II™ is offering a two-day pre-conference workshop that helps developers learn how to build rock-solid object-oriented CFML applications using the Mach-II framework. This workshop is ideal for CFML developers who want to take their development skills to the next level by using object-oriented techniques and the power of Mach-II.

This two-day workshop includes a total of 14 hours of training time, not including breaks and lunch.

 

New and Improved Mach-II Workshop

 

We have made a number of improvements to the workshop since we first offered it two years ago at cf.Objective() 2008. The presentations have been streamlined in order to allow for maximum hands-on coding, and we dig into the latest features introduced in Mach-II 1.8 ("Simplicity") as well as new features in Mach-II 1.9 ("Integrity").

 

In addition, this year each participant is provided a lab computer with all software and hands-on labs pre-installed. At the end of the workshop all materials will be provided on a thumb drive so participants can take their work with them.

 

And the best news is that we have reduced the price of the workshop by 45%!

Workshop Facilitators

 

The training will be run by Peter Farrell, Kurt Wiersma, and Matt Woodward, who not only lead the team that write the Mach-II framework code, but also develop Mach-II applications in their work every day. They are in a unique position to show developers practical ways to get the most out of their CFML applications by using Mach-II.

 

Workshop Requirements

 

• The workshop, which is not an introduction to CFML, was designed for developers who are able to build complete procedural applications in CFML.
• Basic knowledge of CFCs is helpful, but not required, for this workshop. A primer for CFCs will be emailed to participants approximately two weeks before the workshop.
  
• Participants are NOT expected to bring a laptop/notebook computer. Pre-configured computers are provided for all participants at the workshop location. This will minimize setup and configuration issues and allow for maximum hands-on training time.

Due to current economic conditions, we have significantly reduced our prices to encourage organizations to register their developers for the Mach-II workshop.

 

In 2008, the regular price for the 2-day workshop was $895, which is still a bargain for two days of high-quality, hands-on training.

This year the price tag is only $495, a whopping $400 less than what we charged two years ago. We are trying to make it as easy as possible for you to attend this workshop. We have slashed our prices by 45%!

Payment, Cancellations, and Refunds

 

• Full payment is due by April 19, 2010.
• Individuals and organizations not making a full payment by April 19, 2010 will be charged the regular price for the workshops, plus a 20% service fee for late payment.
• Cancellations made by March 19, 2010 will result in a full refund, less a $75 service fee.
• Cancellations made from March 20 through April 2, 2010 will result in a 50% refund.
  
• After April 2, 2010 no refunds will be given.
• All workshop cancellation requests must be made by email.
• If you cannot attend the workshop, you may transfer your registration to another person at any time.

Additional Information

 

• The workshop will be conducted at the Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC), 1501 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403. The college is about a 12-minute walk (.6 mile) from the Hyatt Regency where cf.Objective () 2010 is being held.
  
• We are able to reduce the price of the workshop because we are reducing our costs, including using the facilities at the MCTC. We are passing these savings on to you.
• The same discounted room rate for the Hyatt Regency will apply for April 19 and April 20, 2010.

• The above details about the workshop may change, including the workshop location, workshop schedule, and facilitators involved.
